Surftech Womens SUP Challenge

2008 SURFTECH SUP CHALLENGE
In conjunction with the 2008 ROXY Jam Cardiff, Surftech is holding their inaugural Surftech Women’s SUP challenge. Offering a fun team challenge environment, 12 teams of 3 girls each will compete in a relay/surf heat.
Sound complicated? Not at all. During a 20 minute, 6 team heat, each team member has to paddle out past the break, round a buoy and catch a wave before trading their board to a waiting team member. Scoring will be based on style, maneuvers & use of paddle while riding wave, with a max score of 10 per ride. (A perfect team score would be 30, perfect 10's by each team member!) The cumulative score of all 3 team members determine the winning team. The team score only includes the team members who catch a wave within the 20 minute time. The same surf/priority rules as a normal surf contest apply.
Surftech will be providing each team with an SUP and paddle which all the members of the team have to use! Each team will also have a colored jersey for their members, so all your team has to bring is some solid surf skill and some team spirit.

The top three teams from the preliminary heats will face off in a final heat. In addition to cool swag, prizes are as follows:
- Prizes/team = 1st - $400, 2nd - $200 & 3rd - $100

We will update info about the event as we get closer to the event, but with only 12 teams able to compete, space is very limited!
If you would like to take part in the event please contact sander at sander@surftech.com
Entry fee for the team is $100 and needs to be paid in full to guarantee a slot.
