In 2014 Surftech celebrates it’s 25th Anniversary as the industry leader in manufacturing surfboards and paddleboards! In 1989, Randy French, a leading surf and windsurf board shaper, founded Surftech and introduced the first composite technology surfboard to the surf industry. Surftech partnered with the best shapers in the world including Al Merrick, Rusty Preisendorfer, Simon Anderson and others to bring this innovative new composite construction (Tuflite) to market.Nearly 20 years later, at a time when very few people outside of Hawaii had ever seen or heard of stand up paddling, Surftech again broke new ground by introducing the very first production stand up paddleboard to the market, a move that some say launched the SUP industry.
Today, in partnership with many of the world’s leading board designers, Surftech offers a wide variety of high performance surf, stand-up and prone paddle boards to customers worldwide.
