Originally from Rhode Island, Renick started swimming and surfing at an early age. After his family moved to Seattle, Renick spent summers surfing the East Coast and the rest of the year surfing the West Coast. He competed in ESA (Eastern Surfing Association) summer competitions throughout junior high and high school and has continued to enjoy surfing to this day.
Renick had been looking for more ways to get out on local waters, and Stand Up Paddling became the answer. Being able to get out on the water on a daily basis, get a great workout, while spending time with friends, filled the gap.
Stand Up Paddleboard racing become a passion for Renick. He participated in numerous races a year including: weekly local races, Round the Rock, Defuca Downwind, Oregon Open Ocean, The Jay Race, and Battle of the Paddle.
Renick began competitive Paddleboarding five years ago and is honored to have participated in and successfully completed two Catalina Classic races.
Renick is a PNW artist, graphic designer and photographer. Along with paddling he spends his time freediving, racing OC, cross training at the gym. Renick resides in the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle with his biggest supporters, his lovely wife Elizabeth, and their son Myles.
